The Mapper gives you full control over how MIDI notes are assigned to instrument articulations. By default, the plugin uses the Klangmacht Map, a consistent mapping across all Klangmacht Drum Plugins. However, you can easily switch to popular industry-standard mappings or create your own custom map—ideal for personal setups or electronic drum kits.
Here's a breakdown of the available functions.
1 Default / Custom Switch
Toggle between the built-in Klangmacht mapping and a user-defined custom mapping. The selected option—along with your custom settings—is automatically saved and restored when reopening the plugin.
2 Load
Load pre-configured mappings from popular drum plugin standards. These can be used as-is or further customized (see “Build the Custom Map”).
3 Import
Import a custom mapping you previously saved from another Klangmacht Drums plugin.
4 Export
Save your current custom mapping to a file—handy for use in other projects or across different Klangmacht instruments.
5 Build the Custom Map
You can build a fully personalized map by clicking on any available articulation (grouped by instrument). Each click plays the corresponding sample so you can preview it before assigning.
6 Default Mapping Note
Shows the original MIDI note for each articulation in the default Klangmacht Map. This mapping is fixed and cannot be altered.
Activate the Learn mode for a specific articulation, then hit a MIDI note to assign it as the trigger for that articulation.
8 Custom Mapping Note
Assign a specific MIDI note to an articulation, either via dropdown selection or the Learn function. If you assign a note already used elsewhere, the previous assignment will be cleared—ensuring every MIDI note maps to only one articulation.
9 Reset All
Clears all custom assignments, giving you a clean slate to start a new map.
10 Hi-Hat CC Control
Designed for electronic drum kits, this mode uses a combination of a lead note and MIDI CC data to dynamically control Hi-Hat openness.
11 Lead Note for Hi-Hat CC Control
Defines the main MIDI note that triggers the Hi-Hat. Based on the CC value (see below), the appropriate Hi-Hat articulation (closed, half-open, open, etc.) is selected in real-time.
12 CC Number for Hi-Hat CC Control
Sets the controller number used to transmit pedal openness. The most common value for e-drum kits is CC#4.
13 Velocity Range for Hi-Hat CC Control
Adjust the active velocity range for Hi-Hat mapping using two sliders. The default is 0–127, but you can restrict it (e.g., 0–63 or 64–127) to match your playing style or hardware.
14 Close and Persist
Closes the Mapper and returns to the main interface. All settings, including the active map and any custom mappings, are preserved automatically.
